Online luxury retailer Luisa Via Roma partners up with Steiff teddy bears to raise money for Unicef; Steiff plush pug dogs have been given new life by 21 of the world’s most talented fashion designers. The project unites designers, bloggers and fashionistas in support of children in Bangladesh.
Possibly one of the most awesome ideas ever even though I’m pretty biased seeing as I have a long-term obsession with pug dogs – way before every fashionista in West London owned one! & of course being a fashion graduate, I will always hold a soft spot for fabulous designers.
Here’s a pick of my five favourite dogs:
Balmain – ‘paying homage to Nudie Cohn and some of the key pieces from the Spring/Summer 2012 collection with their Pug. Bedecked in intricate rhinestones & embroidered details, the one of a kind all in one also features the floral motif featured in Olivier Rousteing’s first show for the label famous for it’s smoking hot aesthetic.’ Already adopted by bloggers Bag Snob & 2nd Blog Cafe
Mary Kantratzou – ‘already established as one of the most exciting, young designers and her fabulous stuffed toy is testament to her artistic use of print that has made her a fashion insider favourite.’ Adopted by Bryan Boy & Josie Loves
Giuseppe Zanotti (s&m dog?!) – ‘Inspired by his latest line “bijoux”, fabulous footwear designer Giuseppe Zanotti has used leather and gold coloured metal to create his very own, one of a kind pet belt.’ Adopted by Blonde Salad
Theysken’s Theory (BUBBLES!!)- ‘A huge hit in New York and beyond, this fashion forward designer takes inspiration from his iridescent Spring/Summer collection to create a stuffed toy as lust worthy as the pieces themselves!’ Adopted by Les Mads
and my ultimate favourite (I’ll probably end up bidding on it) David Koma with his punk pug;
‘David Koma is one of London’s brightest new talents and has used his signature graphic shapes and cut outs to create an eye catching stuffed toy.’ Adopted by POST – so jealous!
